…he knows he’s well thought of, he’s in and around the first team. he’s been offered a deal that could set him up for life, he’s settled in the area and knows the club and it’s personnel.

A move is a bit like starting off and proving yourself again, a youngster might not settle in new surroundings with new coaches and teammates.

Key issue here, though, is finance and he’s clearly getting the deal he was holding out for. He’ll now be a very wealthy young man.

Where do you see him playing if Lampard gets the job and goes 433 ?

I think he will be playing wide, though I suppose he could play all 3.
If he plays that system and with the most likely Richarlison going hopefully Iwobi to.

He will probably buy 2 new wide players. Maybe Dobbin goes on Loan and we buy 1 top class first choice. And another one, who fights it out with Gordon & gray for the next spot. Townsend can be an injury back, who will leave the following summer, when Dobbin comes back

I was thinking that we could have:

CF: DCL / ???
WF: Richarlison / Gray / Gordon / Dobbin

Then like you say, Townsend and Iwobi are there as well.

What you think the club down to the youth coach's didn't mention or talk about his contract prior to fat man?

Id almost gaurentee if he had stayed and continued to play rondon ahead of him he wouldn't have signed a new contract.

I have no idea who talked to him after he turned down the offer, what I said was nobody informed Mr.Benitez that Dobbin had refused to sign the contract that ensured the lad was an Everton player for the next few years, Benitez was amazed at the situation and immediately got down to try and change the situation and today’s signing was because Benitez aroused the club that this situation needed sorting out.

As for him not getting a game if Benitez kept picking Rondon ahead of him, I wouldn’t nearly guarantee that Dobbin wouldn’t have signed a contract but would absolutely guarantee that Dobbin wouldn’t have signed the contract unless he was given the financial side of the contract that suited him whether he was in the first team or not.

Yes, he probably looks at Gordon, Calvert Lewin, Holgate etc who have all done well and been given opportunities in the 1st team.

More importantly, he will look at quite a bumper contract, and know he probably doesnt have to work for the rest if his life.

….I don’t get hung up on systems Zat, He’s a live wire and very fast, regardless of formation he can play anywhere across the front line and cause problems. He’s naturally quite small & light framed, though, so it’s unlikely we’ll see him as a lone central striker.

I can see a lot of work on building up his strength ahead of next season.
