Let's fix the team in 3 easy steps.

1) Have a clear playing strategy.
2) Stop being scare of recruitment (managers and players) from abroad
3) Appoint a manager who has a winning CV.

Short term (before the transfer window closes):

  1. Bring in a long term Left Back. If we can't get one we want, get someone in on loan or play Garbutt there until the end of the season. Almost anything is better than persisting with Martina there who isn't even our first choice right back, and can't use his left foot.
  2. Stop playing 2 defensive midfielders in the majority of games, and persisting with an out of form Schneiderlin. Should be starting Rooney alongside Gueye, and if Rooney is out of form/needs to be rested, Sigurdsson, then Davies should be next in line.
  3. Stop bringing players in for one game at a time and then dropping/rotating them. We have done this all season with the centre backs, and have also done it with the younger players too much. Players like Lookman, Vlasic, Davies would benefit more from a run of 4 consecutive games coming on at 60 mins, than playing one game and not being given a chance again for another 5 or 6.
Longer term (Summer):

  1. Unless Allardyce gets us 7th and we earn something like 30 points from our remaining 42 (very unlikely), I'd be looking at replacing him as soon as the season is over. There should be better options out there with a long time to find the right one.
  2. Sort out our transfer strategy and stop spending on players we don't need. We have some good players in our first team, and many who are strong squad players. We need to be making 3 quality, needed signings this summer and not just blowing the money on 7 or 8.
  3. Clear out players with bad attitudes, and explain respectfully to the older players who have given us great service that they are last resort squad players and are free to join other clubs. Give the Captaincy to someone like Coleman as Jagielka has been a great servant but should no longer be Club Captain.

Sensible post alert, sensible post alert! Warning. This is a sensible post alert...

You can’t start a game without a GK and you only have ten players in your formation
The rest I wholeheartedly agree with

See my reply to Nymzee...I've essentially ditched all form of defending as you're not getting anything off 5 Alan Ball clones in midfield and 5 W.R. Dean's in attack anyhow. Nev won't have shizzle to do and, if he does, you know it's getting stopped.

Net result is Everton win all the trophies.
