Sounds to me like he wants to cling on to his city dreams and collect those medals while on the bench.

Either way, he does the way to to move, especially to us.

He made his bed...

What he says about moving to a new house, beong settled in the area with his family in the area etc, makes me think he defo on for a move to us in the summer. Would be a canny signing for me.

yeah, he shouldn't have to relocate as opposed to signing for a team like arsenal, still unsure about all this. But if he comes back and gives 100% i'll be right behind him, just hope he learns his lesson not to **** us off again

Loan only for me at best. Wrong side of 30, no resale value, wages too high, big questions about his motivation as a footballer from now on as he'd be "stepping down" a level and it sends a horrible message out to Shane Duffy and any other emerging youngsters at centre-half at our club.

The thing is he just slots back in, Jags is still here and in the intervening years, you can see they still have a very good understanding between each other when they played for Engerland. Baines wasnt in the team when he was here either was Coleman for that matter, be an awsome defense something that has dissapointed me this year - the number of goals we have conceded.

would prefer someone a bit younger, but with the rave reviews of stones is getting as well as the impressive displays by duffy, in 5/6 years time when lescott has to retire we'll have two players ready to step in at a good age.

to be fair, we shouldn't be looking to sell every player we buy. i know we're in the selling to buy business, but we probably have duffy and stones for that department in that position if it comes to it, could easily get 5/6 years out of joleon. no more than about £5m for me though, should not be paying above that factoring all the things in our favour

You make a good point, we should really be looking to get Duffy and Stones on the pitch, as good as Lescott is, I would prefer to see the young uns given a chance.

Even if we did sign him again; we'd likely still have made a net profit on him over the years (excluding wages, like).

I'd have him back but I'm intrigued about this Stones lid. If he could force his way in to the first team next season then we may not have to buy a CB just yet.
