Still can't see Lescott going unless City have got a player lined up. Nastasic and Kompany would be thier only proper CB's with the toure's off the Afcon.

The way the window goes, it would not surprise me if we sign Lescott back late on in the window of the back of selling Heitinga, not an ounce of surprise from me if that happens.

If we brought lescott in he would be number 1 with jags no doubt. Distin would be a great backup for lescott but u gota ask yourself would he want that at this stage of his career?? I'm not sure.

Maybe he'd stick it out for this season but not next.

I think Distin is a great defender, but there is something just not 100% about any of our defensive partnerships recently, whereas Lescott and Jagielka always seemed impenetrable together, time will tell what Moyes is thinking.

I was thinking that, I very much doubt he'd be happy being a part time player especially as he could offer a lot to another prem team.

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has ben linked with a move away from the club this month but the 30-year-old England international is going nowhere.

In a statement released on Lescott's behalf by the player's spokesman tonight, it is clear he wants to remain with City.

"Joleon Lescott has ruled out the possibility of any loan move during the January transfer window," said the statement.

"Despite speculation linking him with several Premier League clubs, Joleon has no desire to leave Manchester City."

So if the price is right, City may still part with him? No sense in issuing a separate statement if Mancini's insistence that no-one was going anywhere was sincere.
