Lescott : would you have him back?

It looks like he is definitely leaving, it's just a question of where to:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2257517/QPR-join-race-sign-Joleon-Lescott.html

QPR have joined the race to sign Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott as Harry Redknapp bids to beat the drop. The west London side are looking to strengthen their defence and Redknapp is keen on England defender Lescott and QPR are understood to be prepared to meet his £90,000-a-week wages.

But he is not the only one as former club Everton and boyhood team Aston Villa are also keen.

If QPR miss out on Lescott then they will turn their attentions to Everton’s Sylvain Distin.

Yesterday, Aston Villa were linked with the defender as owner Randy Lerner is set to back Lambert in the transfer window and an experienced central defender is the top target.

Lescott was born in the Midlands and grew up supporting Villa before playing for Wolves, Everton and now City and is available for a move.

Villa are just one point above the relegation zone and have conceded 17 goals in their last four games.
The £10million rated defender would have to take a drop in his wages if he were to join his boyhood club as Lerner is trying to reduce player salaries, and Villa would face competition from both Everton and Sunderland who are also interested in taking the 30-year-old.

Lescott would also have to negotiate a pay-off from City to leave the club – just as Richard Dunne and Stephen Ireland did.

Would love for him to come back. Him and Jagielka were unbelievable together. How many years has he left on contract though? No chance of snapping him up on a free or low fee due to an expiring contract any time soon I assume.

I think he's got 2 yrs left of his deal, thats why there was stories City wanted £8m for him this month. But listening to Fourth_Official_ on twitter, City are willing to let him go out on loan aswell but only if they can get someone in themselves?!.

I'd like to think he'd prefer to come to us out of all the teams that are interested in him. Weve got the better prospects this season, the best chance out of all 3 of making europe, possibly even CL which would be a big draw to Lescott, and the fact he's been here before and enjoyed it.

He will follow the money.

Hes in the twilght of his career.

If someone offered us actually money for Distin, we'd be mad to turn it down. I love him like but his time is very limited.

Exactly. The money we'd get for him would never get us a replacement. Distin's quality and experience are worth more than the money we'd get for him. Keep him. He might still have two seasons in him. The second as a back up & tutor
