Lescott : would you have him back?

I wouldn't want him back now tbh. Even tho he's younger than Distin I think they have probably about the same amount of football left to give.

We need a young CB coming in. Someone who will eventually, hopefully partner stones over the coming years. Who will be the future of Everton not the past.

Always said with a wry smile, city spunked 22M on the wrong Everton CB. Jags going would of hurt both me and the club more!

I agree, a player who is proud of his medal despite making almost no contribution to the squad lacks the personal ambition that we need at this club. We don't need someone who's content to ride a proper team's coattails.

Lescott made enough of a contribution to deserve his winners medal this season, he would have qualified for a medal under the old rules. Rodwell's medal is a bit of a joke though, as I'd argue his contribution was negligible.

I haven't read the entire article yet, but there's no doubting that he would never have won such medals without moving to City.

He always has the last laugh to be fair because his annual wages are equivalent to an ordinary man's salaries for 20 years.

He said such thing because he was hurt for being branded as a money grabber, in reality he was at the time as he showed no respect to this club by forcing the move. It is a matter of personality, whether a person is humble and has class or not. Beckham won't say such thing.

See lescott type players always bug me within the fanbase.

The guy left a team that was never achieving anything to go and player in the champions league. He has won the league legitimately (and this season) and also the F.A cup. He has played top european football and now his club deem him not good enough anymore , he can go somewhere else and do a job.

Tell me, what exactly did he miss out on by not staying at goodison? His high wages was a huge grab by him to move for so much money and he has achieved more in his career by leaving us then by staying and achieving nothing.

The only reason i would pass on him now is because i feel he wouldn't be the player who left us anymore and with that goes the difference between a top defender and one at the end of their career.

If we want to buy a really expensive player like Lukaku and strengthen the squad as well, we don't have money to buy a top young defender talent. I would gladly take Lescott for 2 or 3 years if he would accept a wage in our wage structure for a squad player. He can definetely challenge Distin for the place in the starting lineup as our left-footed CB. As soon as Distin retires or leaves us in one or two seasons, we can buy a new CB then/or replace him with Duffy/Browning/another youngster. We can buy a new young and excting partner for Stones in one or two years with these extra TV money every season, when we will hopefully have squad in place and there will be only the need to improve one or two positions every summer.

I'd don't think he'd suit our style of play any more. He was a very good defender for us but there's no doubt who got the better of the deal when City paid £22m for him, but we need to be looking for players who will develop with this young core we've got coming through. Obviously you need a balance of youth and experience but we've already got enough in the defensive positions as it is, anymore and we'd risk hindering the likes of Brownings development.

Some revisionism on here that he wasn't that good for us. At the time even with Jags at his peak he eas easily the best defender at the club. Class on the ball, quick on the deck and scored a fair few too. If he's anywhere near that level i'd have him back.

Stones will be better than all of them though. Scary that he makes some of the best CBs in the prem like Jags and Distin look ungainly.

That not true though, he was at his best at LB, thats where he had that great season, at CB he was good defensively but was a bit ropey at times.
Think we should let the past stay in the past, his levels have dropped alarmingly over the past 18 months at city, he kicks a ball like his boots are filled with concrete.

Would have distin over him everyday of the week
