I'm confident we'll be alright without Lescott in the end. Just need a couple of replacements in. As everyone seems to agree, he isn't worth 20 million and I really wonder, if he's able to reach the same level of cosistency at City. They might have more money and be able to attract more big name players, but I doubt they will ever be able to match the same team spirit, as there has been at Everton under Moyes. That's why there's no question in my mind, there's more risk for Everton/Moyes in keeping him, than there is in selling him.

100% agree. He's not worth keeping. He's blown it as far as the club, DM and the fans are concerned, what the players think is anyone's guess.

Well he's deffo blown it as far as I'm concerned. Just be glad to see the back of him now so we can get on with our season. This is holding us up and the sooner he frigs off the better. Dont understand keeping hold of a player that doesnt wanna play for us and is unhappy here. I think we've got a fairly decent bunch of lads and he's a spanner in the works that we dont need.

from the look of the picture, baxter and wallace are horsing around with the rest of the first team, think we might see some youngsters get a run tomorrow? hopefully we can snot them so for the away leg we can give some of our fringe players a chance.

tbh without lescott in the team i think we will be better off. he played fine on saturday but without him in the team, the rest of the squad have something to prove.

Lescott will do well at Citeh. Him and Toure will be solid. The need rid of Dunne and Ben Haim. Toure was pretty much doing Dunne's job as well on Saturday, while Dunne was up to his tricks of almost giving peno's and corners away.

Lescott will make Citeh solid. Anyone who says he wont are low balling him. Toure is more experienced than what we have and will be solid partnership.

i'm not being bitter here, i really think city are going after the wrong kind of player.

terry was a good shout for them, a solid, consistent centre back.

lescott is a very good centre back, but do you remember how shockingly bad he looked at the beginning of last season? at times he was awful, and even the season before once or twice he made mistakes that make you shake your head.

in spite of this, lescott is pretty confident on the ball, and more importantly he's a goal threat. we really don't score all that many goals, lescott is a defender that comes up with important goals, match made in heaven. also, lescott is versatile enough to play two positions (3 actually, we played him as a striker against someone 2 seasons ago in stoppage). city have a gigantic squad, everton barely have a full first team and we seem to have the bad luck of having every single player injured for some time, so while lescott's versatility isn't all that great for them (they have plenty of wide defenders), its invaluable for us.

city on the other hand, will have no shortage of goals this season. tbh i think a player like yobo would be better for them, someone who's not necessarily the most skilled going forward, and is nowhere near as versatile, but who will typically make a tackle when its needed. also, they have the quality up front to receive yobo's hoofs and do something with it. with lescott, i can see him make a couple mistakes (the kind we all forgave him for because we knew he's quality), and get thrown out with the rubbish to make way for the new highly paid star. i just don't see city demonstrating the patience to take the good with the bad.

Lescott's had one bad patch in his three seasons here, he's been a fantastic player for Everton. He deserved to win player of the year the season Mikel won it and then he won it the following season.

No matter what you think of him now, he's an excellent player.

i didn't say he wasn't an excellent player, just that his attributes make him far more of an asset to our team than they would to city, namely that his versatility and goal threat won't be nearly as much of a benefit for city as they are for us.
