Leighton Baines

Heitinga will be off the books in a few months even if they can't get rid. Logic would dictate it has nothing to do with Heitinga.

Heitinga is supposedly on £65,000 per week. That could easily be split 3 ways and still be a nice pay rise for each

Sure, but that's coming off the books anyway. You wouldn't risk losing Baines, Barkley or Coleman because you need to pay Heiting for a few more months.

The biggest club in the world are interested in him and he hasn't signed a contract yet when he was injured for how long. Its pretty obvious mate

Not been here long but you strike me as the kind of person that would be made up if we sold him next week for 15m, claiming its a no brainer and a great piece of business. But then annoyingly state it was stupid to sell him should his replacements form suddenly dip (Oviedo). You're someone who likes to always be ' against the grain '. Fair enough like

I know its everton and we take everything slow but surely they would have made him sign a contract when he was injured?

Cos when you're injured you're at home with your feet up ??

When you're fit and playing once a week, its busy busy busy aint it mate ? Its a wonder how these players find the time to pick up a pen and sign a piece of paper isn't it. Wonder how they find the time to eat. I can imagine xmas time being the worst though. Do they have a xmas you think ? No time for anything.

Nobody is gonna be that arsed any more when Baines signs his contract. It's taken far too long. Surely if he was such a boss Blue and actually wanted to stay he'd have signed it yonks ago?

You catch on quick ;)

So according the Mirror (via Martinez), Baines wants to stay at Everton. Then why not come out and say it the fans? We've heard nothing from him since we assumed he's decided to stay in the summer... although we now know he asked for a move but the club turned it down.

Because he produces spectacular performances every time he steps on the pitch and doesn't owe us anything beyond that. He has other things to worry about besides whether or not you personally are worried about him leaving, and he has every right to wait til the summer to negotiate a new contract, if we do make champions league I imagine his contract will be considerably more lucrative

Basically took the words off of my tongue.

He doesn't have to come out and profess his undying love for the club ffs.
