Seen a few quote from Martinez, on twitter, saying there are no plans to offer him a contract at the moment. Which almost directly contradicts what he had said during the international break.

I saw one floating about saying contract negotiations hadn't begun, I didn't realise he also said they didn't have any immediate plans to.

asif the club wouldn't offer him a new contract, if no contract is being offered then this will be down to Baines and his agent who will have told the club that they do not want to discuss a new contract.

My gut instinct is that Baines wants to go to Utd but is too decent to try and force a move. He's in a strong position at the minute. He can negotiate for a bumper pay rise at Everton or he can run down his contract and force us into selling him or losing him for nothing. I just don't see Utd letting this one go.

He will go to United on the cheap, which is why we got such a good deal for Fellaini. That was my gut feeling, said at the time. I wondered whether to feel assured about Moyes and his 'the Baines deal is off' comments but I always knew, snake in the grass that he has become, that this was untrue.
I think thats why the double deal was persisted with and only dropped at the last minute and give us time to find an adequate replacement, which is much harder to do for him than Fellaini (already improved central midfield immeasurably). Maybe Oviedo might step up to the plate in the next 6 months.

Either way, if it's not January it'll be this summer and we won't see more than £8m for him.
