Boss video, boss player and he is all OURS. No airs and graces, just gets on the pitch, put himself about and gets stuck in fairly, make himself available, has a sweet left peg, is creative going forward...... and so enjoys his lover affair with Peanuts. Just a joy.
 
Baines is class, BUT too many people make comments like "best in Europe" without even looking at who is playing in Europe for tht top clubs these days.

Nagatomo, Asamoah are just 2 in Italy, that are looking top draw this season.
 
Baines' goal against toon didn't even get a goal of the week contender spot, bloody good goal that was.

Maybe I should start a new thread about it :blink:

Talking about prices of players is ridiculous when looking at how good the player is. Who would you rather have Carroll or Jelavic is probably the best example I have ever seen of values of players in relation of how good they are.

Did we offer Baines to Man Utd for £10 mil or something, how do you know they turned down paying £10 mil for Baines?

In purely opinion stakes it would be hard pushed to think of a reason why Baines could not be talked about in the same circles as Coentrao, Marcelo, etc.

Some of the posts in here are prime examples of what i said earlier. Unless he plays for the Uniteds, Citys, Madrids he wont get the recognition he deserves, just because Coentrao plays for Madrid doesnt make him a better player, neither does his price tag. Im sure Baines doesnt really care about the recognition he gets because he really seems down to earth and doesnt give a ****, but us as fans, its nice to see our players get what they deserve and for me, Baines isnt.

Not sure why people are having this argument, Coentrao is 24, Baines is turning 28.

Yer that's what was touted in the media the most so am just going off that. And the other bit I put just simply saying Baines is better isn't really much for me to go on so I just say somthing funny me saying he's not didnt seem as one dimensional as your retort.

I love Baines and am made up he plays for us but the way people on here go on bout best in the world or Europe. It's either a complete lack of football knowledge, or just plain blind faith.

Either way it's embarrassing sound like the kopites who say Suarez is as good as messi(which I've acually been told).

Like I say I love the lad and I hope to god he keeps doing what he's doing for us but for christ sake the way some people talk about him is absolutely cringeworthy.

Although yet it makes me laught as I seem to remember people saying Baines would be little more then second fiddle to evra. Now he'd walk into real madrids side. Strange as no ones ever even put a official bid in for the best left back in the world.
 
Clubs dont always make official bids. We have a good relationship with Utd. From what I understand, Baines was asked if he would be interested in moving, he said nope, so Utd moved on

How is it blind faith?

Who's better in the premiership? Look at the teams above us, United - he's better than Evra, Arsenal, he's better than Gibbs, Newcastle, he's better than whoever they have, City, he's better than Clichy.

Better than Assout ekotto, Enrique, etc. The only one that can challenge him in the league is Ashley Cole and I think Baines is now better.

So he's the best in his position in the best league in the world, it's hardly laughable to say he's the best in Europe. Particularly as your example wasn't the best and you seemed to have picked him because he cost a lot and (sometimes) plays for Madrid.

Not sure what your point is, are you saying you can only compare players that are the same age.

I don't care what people say I am going to say it straight.

Baines is among the best full backs in the world

I think everyone seems to mistake Baines partnership with pienaar as how effective he would be without him. Pre January I'd say evra and clichy where both on par with him if not more so in form. and a cole had a fantastic season last year after they got rid of AVB. Oh yer and what about bale? No one has mentioned him.

I watch real madrid pretty much every week and coentroa plays more or less every week.

Considering that
a) it's real Madrid
B) and mourinho is such a massive fan of rotating his squads and there's really only about four players who are garunted a starting that's saying quite a lot for the lad.
