hopefully wont be played behind downing. and hopefully all three come back as fit and as strong as they are going into international duty.
Who else has internationals?

Near enough everyone. Loads of international games on saturday.

Tell you what, the lad's got patience. For over a season and a half he was labeled a flop that Moyes wouldnt play, that Lescott was staying at left back.

The thing is though...if Yobo hadnt got injured would Baines be playing?

It's a shame that it took Joe Yobo's injury to allow the lad to get a good run and prove himself. I'm just glad he had the patience to stick with us, others in the past would've been shouting for a transfer long ago. Now it's Joe's turn to be patient. Nice to be talking about strength in depth again (at least in some area's).

That is the million dollar question. Baines would have got his chance eventually i feel, he gives us that attacking option and if Yobo would have still been playing, Moyes would most probably have brought on Bainsey in a tactical change playing him on the left side of midfield.

Welll.....I dont think he would've to be honest. Moyes is very stubborn and has dropped Baines to the bench in favour of Lescott earlier this season.

You can also put that to shifting Jags to right back in favour of putting Yobo in. I know Jacobsen might be not fully ready, but it took another injury for Yobo for Lars to get a chance because everyone was injured - and he proved dependable against Pompey but lacking match sharpness.

Moyes seems like he needs to be pushed fully over the edge to drop or change his 1st team choices - Neville, Osman, Yobo, being 3 players no matter how poor of form he'd still play.

So I do think if Yobo wasnt injured Baines would be on the bench....even, like a thought would happen, sold in January which I didnt want to happen but wouldnt have been surprised at. He's one of the countries best left backs, has been since he was at Wigan IMO.

I still cant understand Moyes decision to switch Jags at right back just to accomodate Yobo. Lars would have been just has fit has Joey surely has both had been out of action for some time. Jags cannot play right back to save his life so the natural choice would have been to leave him at centre back and bring either Yobo or Jacobsen at RB. If Moyes felt both where unready to take that mantle, then he always had Neville to cover.

If Baines didn't get cleaved in half playing Derby would he have been dropped last season for Jags? things seem to have worked out well- Jags found his place in the team and become a great player and Baines has made LB his and is now one of our biggest attacking threats down the left.
