Left Back Debacle

Just watched Hector who's back for Cologne again after injury.

We should be offering to double his wages. He's in a bottom two outfit in the Bundesliga. German auotomatic starter.
We seem to be allergic to German players for some weird reason???

Does anyone know when Baines is back from injury?
Is he back training?

Last word is mid-February. So he may only miss a couple more games. Which helps to explain why the club isn't quite as desperate to sign a LB as many of the fans. What we definitely don't want to be doing is bringing in another squad player like Martina to make up the numbers. If there's no LBs available who are really top notch then the club will leave it until the summer.

i actually think the club are being sensible letting baines recover and giving garbutt a chance,
personally think wed be daft to buy someone short term now and still have the long term replacement needed in the summer. short term thinking is whats got our squads average age about 39 and a bunch of relative strangers.

let steve walsh earn his money and scout the long term replacement this year (heard aaron creswell is very interested in a move to us) tierney seesengon.

none of whom would be allowed to move in january

Made me laugh. More holidays for him

Galloway showed he could do a good job when he covered for baines.

As cover. I think there's a difference between a lad who can come in and do a job and a left back who actively improves our team in the way Baines did for many years.

You can only go so far with cover (we all thought Browning was great for a while) but when it comes to making our team better, the likes of Galloway fall way short of the standard of full back that we have enjoyed. Baines and Coleman in full flight were one of the best full back combinations in the league at one time, that's what we should be aiming for again

Probably not keen on moving before the World Cup in case he spends the rest of his season being made rubbish by us.
