what's the latest with Baines? He can't be too far away can he?

Thats besides the point. Even if he comes back fine from this, Martina is STILL the backup if anything else happens to Baines.what's the latest with Baines? He can't be too far away can he?

Amavi (played for Villa the year they got relegated) is out of contract in June. Probably Villa's best player that year along with Gana.
Baines isn’t the answer. We need shut of him in the summer, too.what's the latest with Baines? He can't be too far away can he?
Think I'd take him over our available options thoughBaines isn’t the answer. We need shut of him in the summer, too.
We were offered the chance to recall Galloway I think, decided Sunderland should continue to pay his wages as he's no good to us here! Amavi would be a better option than Baines IMOHe plays for Marseille now, I thought Galloway was good at left back, if we could recall him I would.

Rather young Garbutt, than an old slowing Baines.

We need a new, good, left back, as simple as that.
This 'give Garbutt a chance' business, despite it being probably our best option right now, is not the solution and the management shouldn't be allowed rest back and ignore this issue.
Garbutt was highly unimpressive before and his loan spells at lower league clubs were not much better. He could be ok but it is very risky because we could be back to square one within an instant.
Its a sign of the general desperation around the club that some are even asking for Garbutt back because even if Baines does return, as someone else has said, Martina will be his back-up and that is simply unacceptable. Baines is getting on anyway, our owners keep talking about planning ahead, then why aren't we here?
