Left Back Debacle

I have no idea who this French lad is who was mentioned in the thread title but if he has a decent left peg and adapts quickly to the premier league, he could be a very canny singing

We need a new, good, left back, as simple as that.

This 'give Garbutt a chance' business, despite it being probably our best option right now, is not the solution and the management shouldn't be allowed rest back and ignore this issue.

Garbutt was highly unimpressive before and his loan spells at lower league clubs were not much better. He could be ok but it is very risky because we could be back to square one within an instant.

Its a sign of the general desperation around the club that some are even asking for Garbutt back because even if Baines does return, as someone else has said, Martina will be his back-up and that is simply unacceptable. Baines is getting on anyway, our owners keep talking about planning ahead, then why aren't we here?

what's the latest with Baines? He can't be too far away can he?

Thats besides the point. Even if he comes back fine from this, Martina is STILL the backup if anything else happens to Baines.

Rather young Garbutt, than an old slowing Baines.

Baines isn’t the answer. We need shut of him in the summer, too.

Absolutely all of this. Baines needs to be used sparingly and phased out by a credible successor. Which isn't Cuco.

It's crazy to think that Luke Garbutt is earning close to 30,000 a week. In four months time, he'll be 25 years old. Why the hell is he on our books if he's deemed not good enough?

Koeman not having him in the squad and having no back up for Baines just shows how much of a farce his thinking was at the start of the season.

Disagree he was highly unimpressive for us, had some difficult loan spells but that Wigan team he was at last season had about 4 managers unfair to judge him on that. He was injured for so much of Fulham’s too.

Not saying he’s going to be the next roberto Carlos but it looks like he’s goinb to play till Baines is back so let’s just give him a chance

We need 2 left backs in summer one in the 25-28 age bracket and the other 21-24 so then we can let Baines and Garbutt leave as one is passed it and the other has probably missed the boat with us. I think if we can get thru with what we've got until the end of the season then make it our number 1 proirity.
