Im not one to "vault" but go back to that time and I guarantee a fair few posters were branding Lescott a "money grabber" for apparantely chasing the money. It wasnt about Man City being a future elite club it was leaving us for £££.

Players like him and Adebayor were slated by us and arsenal fans etc. For going to City. I posted on NSNO forum during that period and I can vouch a fair few fans couldn't see why he would leave us who were in the top 6 at that point to join City other than the doubling of his wages.

Same way if Leeds got back into the prem under wealthy new owners and threw a £50 mil bid at Digne and 200k a week wages you'll get some blues calling him a money grabbing snake joining a bunch of texans as thats football fans for you.

Well, as you "joined" in Jan 2019, not sure how you would know that.

And secondly, that wasnt what I called you out on. Players leaving for massive wages that is. You said that lads were laughing that City would never be as big as us cos of the money, fact is, we had all seen that path trodden by Chelsea.

As I said Roydo its a game of opinions this, I would happily admit to wetting my knickers if this lot get PSG owners as they dont mess about and it'll inevitably effect EFC whereas other fans have called me out to the effect of "why u bothered Lad Leeds are presently a championship club" in which I basically pointed out the case of Man City who once upon a time were also below us in the pecking order.

Whoever gets this sort of buyout at some point becomes top of the pile whilst the rest of us get pushed down a place.

You got all wobbly about Newcastle, you got all wobbly about Leeds. Lad, nothing has happened at either. And if it did, so what? There are only a relatively small number of elite players on the plant, like the ones who could change the direction of a football club. If you bought 11 of them.

So ask yourself, if you were an elite footballer, with any club to choose from, who would you choose to play for? Leeds or Newcastle for an extra £20k pw cos RM or Barcelona or City or United will only you pay you £250,000 pw?

Academic lad because the club are not coming up next year...or the year after that.......Just my opinion so chill..... :cool: :cool:

I honestly couldn't answer that as I never thought Chelsea or Man City would become what they did following their investment. PSG play in a bum league yet have elite talents like Mbappe, Neymar, Cavani etc. Playing for them, that russian club (Anzhi?) Had a prime Samuel Eto'o flying miles to and from the training ground because of the money on offer - money talks end of the day.

If you think its nothing to worry about fair enough I respect your opinion thats what a football forum is about!

Sounds like this tinpot prince is bouncing from club to club until he finds one that is dumb enough to hand him the keys. Leeds would certainly fit that bill.

Well the difference is what you have posted right there. PSG? Joke league, all about CL, and according to reports, (yeah, I know), Neymar and Mbappe want out. Presumably for a proper club. Not one thats younger than Hibbo.

Eto'o at a Russian club? So what? Didnt some Chinese club pay some lard arse £600000 a week?

^^^^^ sort of stuff is short term idiocy by folk with more money than sense. It will make a short term splash. Then nothing of lasting significance. X Factor football if you like.

IF Leeds got promoted, and IF they splashed some cash in a constructive way, they MIGHT do ok.
