Mentioned this a few games back in another thread, afer the Leicester game when John Moss was the ref, some really bad refs in the premier league it’s shocking, even some of the decisions yesterday were ridiculous.

Newcastle 11/5 against us with this Stain in charge. Like printing money.

Going to find something else to do. Who could forget the assault on Baines, three men offside at Newcastle, the non penalty at Cardiff, the two offside goals at Arsenal, the three ridiculous pens at Blackburn.

Useless ref. Nearly always stiffs us.

It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re all utterly useless and there’s none of this “oh but it’s a really hard job and there’s so much going on” rubbish. They don’t utilise VAR intelligently because they’re either scared of going against a colleague or scared their VAR assistant might go against them and make them look wrong instead of you know working as a team to come to the right conclusion.

They won’t get a grip of their linesmen who are somehow actually worse than the referees.

Many of them are incredibly questionable fitness wise especially the linesmen and I’m pretty sure that one who is actually fat (name escapes me) makes up decisions because he can’t actually get over and see whats happened.

I’m convinced referees somehow develop an ego and crave being some omnipotent entity on the football pitch and have little regard for actually making the correct decision. Blokes like Webb, Dean, Clattenburg and Atkinson just compound this for me and going even further back Poll and Winter were just the same too.

Refereeing in the Premier League is poor at best. I thought yesterday's preformance from the referee was very poor. Him allowed a continuous string of petty fouls go unpunished. Sometimes he blew up for nothing.
Provided we go to Newcastle with a will to win then Mason won't deny us, we should beat them with a bit to spare.

once upon a time the referees were anonymous you only knew their names by reading it in the match day program
