Ledson to leave Everton?

Seems a talented lad so hope if he does go that he uses it as a springboard, similar to seeing Adam Forshaw play in the Premier League the other night.

Personally I would have thought they would have loaned him out again but what do I know.

Aye hopefully Unsworth has had final say on it, and if he thinks we have better/the lads not gonna make it at the level he wants then have to go with his opinion really, strange one as the lad looked like the one who'd break through first out the lads a few years back - then again similar could be said for Lundstram before that

@Zatara

And this is why you don't plan to play the academy. Proof in writing of what i failed to convince you of. Most of the aren't good enough , and this is proof of that. Ledson was next best thing for a long time, now he could leave for league 2?

But of course in your eyes we should be promoting them all and winning the league?

Exactly. If we are getting a good enough player for every 3/4 years from the academy then I think we are doing ok.

personal thoughts. Sad to hear he hasn't become the player we thought he would. Especially when the likes of Davies seem to have surpassed him at this level. Hope he does move if that is the case and we see him again in the premier league in the future.

Jordan Rossiter across the park is another example. He was expected to be the next academy graduate for them. Now plays for Rangers.
No guarantee for any youth player. That last step to the first team, especially in the modern day cauldron of the Premier League is the most difficult. I had high hopes for Ryan but after seeing him make the bench a few years back his disappearance back to the academy without any more exposure did make me question if he would be successful here.

Whatever the outcome I am certain the club will do whatever is best for all concerned. I hope he has a long and successful career be that here or elsewhere. Adam Forshaw is a great example that leaving for a lower league side is not always a bad thing.

Surprised no one here has said, he needed to kick on to get on. He hasn't kicked on with us, so in order for him to kick on he will need to leave and hopefully he'll kick on.

He'll be kicking himself he didn't kick on with us, though.

Kick on.
