Only getting around to watching " The Boys in Green" documentary. Brillant watch, brought some great memories of the Jack Charlton era.
A nice trip down memory lane. I have particularly fond memories of that era as my Dad took us to Germany in 88 and Italy in 90. I can remember just spending weeks dressed in football gear, sleeping in train stations or campsites, living off a diet of breadsticks and orangina. We'd phone our Ma back home every few days to check in. International tournaments will never be the same again. The standard of football from Big Jacks team wasn't great but we were tough to beat.

I see Sligo have temporarily let all playing and non-playing staff go...I reckon other clubs will have to follow suit soon.

A few Rovers lads on the forum, something to watch tonight.

Tentative plans for league to resume on 31st July, with just a home and away format - factoring games already played. Which would mean only 13 games left to play for the season. And if there are no fans able to attend matches I can't really see what the financial purpose of any of this will be? What are your thoughts lads?

Expect another announcement on Friday. The stroke rovers pulled here is as funny as it is appalling. It just proves again what an absolute basket case loi football is and there is no way in hell Niall Quinn is going to fix it. Think we will end up with 18 game season, starting from scratch with only one up and one down so no playoff.

In other news John Cotter turned down Waterford job which should tell you everything you need to know, they are in massive danger of going bust

I reckon there's more than just Waterford in danger tbh.

Sligo have done an amazing job again on the fundraising front so hopefully that keeps them out of trouble. We are in an absolute mess while trying to restructure but I don't think we are in any immediate danger as outgoings are so low. There is bound to be clubs in trouble long term and I can't get away from thinking Dundalk are actually the ones to keep an eye on, especially if European money is greatly reduced this year

Going to be tough times for a lot of clubs, was watching a bit about finn harps couple of weeks back trying to raise money to stay afloat, a shame.

You must miss going the game of a Friday night, only get to a few myself but it's always nice to have the option, hopefully we have soon enough.

Ya it's wierd not heading to the cross on a Friday night. It's as much about the social aspect as the game itself. I mean we were awful to watch last year so you were going for the "craic" as much as anything else. No night away in Waterford by the looks of things this season which has been a standing order for years.
Fai have ratified the vote so it goes ahead unless someone takes a court case, which could happen

Ya, it's a pity about waterford, always get to the cross and the rsc couple of times a season, the rsc is handy get to for me, it's a decent place to watch a game too.

With it starting behind closed doors do you think clubs will offer a ppv style streaming service of games for fans to generate a bit of revenue. I heard it being mentioned few weeks back.

There was talk of it but I'm not sure if it will be cost effective for clubs tbh. We have our agm Sunday week so will be told what the plan is then, I would imagine

No idea how true but a few Cork City itk members saying game on sunday won't be played because Bohs have had positive Covid tests. It's also the only game the bookies haven't priced up yet

How are Bray Wanderers and UCD doing these days? Played against them for Queen's Park in pre-season friendlies in 1995. Had a great time over there after the games. Played UCD on the friday night and beat them and played Bray on the saturday and think they beat us 4-1 if remember correctly.

Both in the 1st division now. Going to be a curtailed season. Bray had some shocking administrative problems for a few years but good owners in charge now and a decent future.
