LB - Left Back - Leighton Baines the best/world class?

Lahm is probably a better player if only because he can be top class at both LB and RB and Marcelo is a beast. But Baines is up there, certainly. Without a doubt world class.

I agree to an extent but Marcelo is a liability sometimes either silly challenges and sending offs also he cant really get in the squad because Fabio Coentrao the Portuguese LB is better IMO. As for Lahm yes World Class on the right his delivery lacks on the left tho but he can do the job there too but I'd much rather haves Baines' lefty swinging it in than lahm cutting in

Theres no better crosser of the ball in the league than Baines for me

Honestly love the fact that he is so underrated as we have a better chance of keeping him with us

Marcelo is the first choice at Real, Coentrao usually plays in midfield or even on the wing occasionally.

I just enjoy making pedantic sarky comments, mate. Stop ruining my fun, ffs.

Filthy Bearded Pedant strikes again

Until he's played champions league and gone up against robben, messi etc he can never be classed as "world class".

He's an exceptional fullback in his domestic league.

Leighton Baines. I bet you think this thread is about you.

He's boss. Possibly the most consistant performer in his position over the last 3 years anywhere in the world. I couldn't care less about England. Actually that's not true. I'd rather he didn't play for England.

Probably fair. In terms of week in, week out performances in a top level domestic league you'd be hard pressed to find many better but he's never been on a big stage so there will always be question marks.

Still utterly delighted that we have a left back as good at him at the club. He could play for Barca, imo.

Couldn't give a running [Poor language removed] at a rolling doughnut if he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

WE know how good he is and as long as he's doing it for Everton, that's all that matters to me.

This all day long.

The more he doesnt play for England the better and if the meffs think Cole & Bertrand are better, let them be better.
