Baines is better than Cole and has been for over 18 months.

I find it very child like the way the England set up do seem to favour the 'glamour' clubs - because they play for Liverpool or Arsenal they deserve to be in the squad.

Shelvey is a decent player but he doesn't deserve an England call up, and ****ing Sterling? Give me a break.

That Jenkinson at Arsenal will be a good player too, but he doesn't deserve a call up. If you're looking at form, then players Like Osman, Holt, Carroll, Baines, Lennon etc should be getting involved/given a chance.
 
I genuinely believe Baines will go down as one of our best ever, unbelievably good player. I've never seen Ray Wilson play for us, despite him being part of the 1966 world cup winning squad, Baines would be more than competition for him

baines is going to have to adapt his style of play to a more defensive role if he ever wants to be a regular for england, cole basically plays the same as he does for chelsea as he does for england. He gets forward on occasions, but his defensive work comes first.( he is playing to get his 100 caps now im talking about over the years)

Baines sometimes just goes off leaving us exposed at the back he gets away with it here becuase he is our best and most influential player so he has to get forward and its upto pienaar or whoever to cover, if he does that for england playing against the top teams he will get slaughtered.
you cant expect the LM to cover for him everytime as LB your defensive duties have to come first

there will be times where baines will have to play the full 90 not making a single run forward, he isnt used to playing this type of football,

Eh? That's exactly what the LM should be doing, covering the overlapping full back if needed.

England have done it in the past, Garry Neville, Graham Le Saux come to mind as full backs who overlapped.

Except when Baines plays for England he barely gets forward at all in comparison to with Everton. I mean FFS, he's not just going to go bombing forward if he's told not to is he ?
 
I think England's game showed yesterday that our FB's are looking to push on. Cole was pushed up high first half... He just wasn't very good at it!! Second half was a defence mission.

That was the worst Iv seen cole for England. His days are coming to a end IMO and I'd be amazed if he's still first choice when rio come around. Just a matter of time till baines takes it...

Best in the world for me. I see shouts of Alba being better than him, but no. Alba will become the best LB in the World at one point, but right now, Leighton Baines is far and away the worlds best.
Its absolutely brilliant that i get to witness the worlds best left back play for my Club week in week out.
 
I read in the Telegraph other day when they had a bit about Manchester United transfer targets that "it is now clear that Baines is looking to leave Everton". Nearly spat my tea out! :lol: Fellaini is gone this summer, not Baines. However it wouldn't surprise me if somebody tried a cheeky 10m bid and Kenwright decided to negotiate, and accepted a bid of 11m. :mellow:

In fact, maybe Kenwright has promised David a transfer 'warchest' of 30m this summer, but neglected to say that it will come through the sales of Fellaini and Bainesy? :lol:
