Superb mate. You forget what a great actor he is, major oddball, but a great actor.Cruise was excellent in it
Funny. I think the exact opposite in both casesThe Amazing Spider-Man
The CGI is better than in the original films and the action is quite decent. But that's also just about the only real positives I can take from this.
'Cause this is the "Rogue One" of the Spider-Man franchise. The characters are bland, the casting leaves a lot to be desired and the story is uninteresting.
Every character that's in both the original trilogy and this movie is portrayed waaay better in the originals. Spider-Man himself (Andrew Garfield) has the most annoying face and he's not fit to lace Tobey Maguire's boots in my opinion. His aunt and uncle likewise.
And 'though the love interest (Emma Stone) is quite cute, she's nowhere near Kirsten Dunst.
Though I gotta say it's quite funny that the director of a Spider-Man movie is called Webb.

Finally got round to watching the remake of the 1977 cult classic.
I've got to say, it was better than I expcepted, still retained the B movie feel, slapstick gore and didn't cut out the horrendous rape scene ( which surprised me tbh).
Not bad.
Yeah, the mummy was terrible, I agree. I watched Oblivion the other night as well. Again, fantastic in that. Even to the point that I thought someone else wouldn't have been able to carry it off.One of the last proper movie stars. He’s endlessly mockable but he has such a solid filmography. Minority Report, Collateral and recently Edge of Tomorrow all demonstrate how capable he is. Think he makes more interesting choices than a lot of other big actors as well.
Although the mummy was gash. Severe gash.
Preferred this to the original even though I do really like Wes Craven. Had the perfect about of gore for me, plus the actor who played Doug really nailed it.
Perfect example of a successful horror remake.. unlike the nightmare on elm street and Friday the 13th efforts of recent years.
But Julie Christie, even though she's only in it for the last ten minutes.Billy Liar. Mostly very funny with familiar British actors from early sixties.
Ultimately, frustrating and quite depressing.
