Last Film You Watched

Kill List (2011) - Thriller/Horror

'Events take a darker turn as a contract killer (Neil Maskell) and his business partner (Michael Smiley) carry out a new assignment.'

Violent and a bit confusing. Never quite sure where it was leading to, the ending leaves more than a few stones unturned.
I've seen a couple of explanations of it and both plausible but, watch it and see for yourself.

Black (2015) - Crime/Drama (Belgian and subtitled)

'A young girl (Aboubakr Bensaihi) in a gang faces a choice between loyalty and love when she falls for a boy (Sanâa Alaoui) from a rival gang.'

A graphic, violent and in some scenes disturbing, variation of the Romeo and Juliet theme.
Intense and tragic, although the character portrayals might mean you favour one over the other?

20th Century Women

A film about growing up with older people (Annette Bening) trying to understand her son/the younger generation).

Loved it,; great score and a brilliant soundtrack - Bowie, Suicide, Talking Heads, Black Flag etc

High Fidelity (2000)

After years of my girlfriends Dad harping on telling me to watch it, I finally did last night. And I loved it (the guy knows me better than I do myself)! If ever there was a film that would completely encompass what I love about cinema, this was it. John Cusack is excellent, soundtrack amazing and the whole story has a overbearing feeling of deep nostalgia.

Highly recommended.

Watched a b movie called "quarries." Turns out it was about a bunch of 20 ish yr old women in the woods being hunted down in a deliverance style film.

Very disappointing. Not at all the film I had hoped for, as a geologist.
There must be loads of proper interesting geophysical youtube videos to watch. Hate for you to be dissapointed again. You need to look in the right places.

Another one of many. Went to see guardians of the galaxy.

I thought it was brilliant. An impossible comic book storyline that came out surprisingly well. Characters were funny and Yeah, it hit every single note I wanted it to in all honesty. There is even a few cameos in the film including the brilliant obvious one. The opening sequence had a brilliant nod to the first film which had me laughing.

groot is dancing on the battlefield the whole time and at one point drax gets thrown to the ground next to him and he stops still until he moves, like the end sequence of the first film
I really didn't expect to like the first one but it was suprisingly good. Looking forward to seeing the new one.

Yeah the quick sum up of the second is another adventure with the characters. I personally loved it, made me laugh so many times.

Exactly that with first, laughed out loud. I expected just a low brow souless action film but it was genuinely a top film, very funny and enjoyable watch, not cheesy either.
