It is absolutely worth a punt. I was the same - very skeptical, but it was fantastic. And yes, its a comedy, but not quiet as tongue-in-cheek as you might imagine

Fast and Furious 8 or Fate of the Furious (2017 - still not entirely sure what the film is actually called)

Yeah it was great. I'm a bit obsessed with the whole series though so might be biased a bit.
Not many just mad action movies these days so these are important. Over the top mental, plot holes AOTS, just bloody brilliant. Can't wait to watch it again.

Charlize Theron makes a good baddie too.

Watched 'Mud' this evening, with Matthew McConaughey. A bit too long, decent but simplistic plot, well acted but ultimately slightly disappointing. Similar vibe to No Country For Old Men, which I would describe in the same manner.

No Country For Old Men is much better.

Tommy Lee Jones is made for the role he plays.

It hardly deviates from the book at all and has one of the best psycho baddies going in Javier Bardem.

Big minus, is that it doesn't capture McCarthys genius in the evocative way he weaves the countryside and elements into the story.

The BFG. Let's be honest, it's crap. The main part is ok, but the whole queen bit is so rubbish. I know it follows the book, but is rubbish in the book too.

Although, Jermaine Clement steals the show as the main giant. So funny.
