Last Film You Watched

Just finished Severance.

It`s one of those, that you`re glad you stuck with.

I struggled to get my head around it to start with, as it was just so odd and bizarre, but around about episode five, it all starts to click and move up a gear.

Very intelligent and well written.

Reminded me a lot, of a modern day version of The Prisoner, with a bit of Waywood Pines in there too.
Yeah I wasn’t too sure in the beginning either, but glad I stayed with it.

Also just realised I posted it in the wrong thread ??‍♂️

Anything with Abbott and Costello ranks high for me. Always loved their movies, even has a kid. Would always watch them when I was sick
Their rise to fame in the early 50's effectively destroyed any chance that Laurel and Hardy had at a comeback...

Laurel had his heart set on one one more film, but the studio vehemently passed on it stating that their style of humour was dated. Not long after that Hardy's heart gave out effectively ending the comedy duo.

I remember seeing a picture somewhere of Laurel standing beneath a giant Abbott and Castello poster and he just looked completely dejected.

I dunno, I just always thought it was a sad ending. That and the fact that after Hardy passed, Laurel kept on writing skits for them until he passed. :(

Dawn of the Dead (1978)

I've owned this for more than 10 years, and got around to watching it first now. I'm a but surprised at the very comedic tone of the film (what's with the clown music soundtrack?), but it's still quite good. Some very gory stuff as well towards the end of the film. I do prefer Night of the living dead over this one. 6/10

Day of the dead is really good as well...... third film in the series when the world has finally gone to pot. Only a few soldiers and scientists are left as the zombies take over. Top gore and some great nightmarish moments

Black Adam. Did not mind that ride one bit. Check your brain at the door and step right up to onto the rollercoaster @Prevenger17. Would watch again.

Amsterdam. Spectacular cast make an absolutely unwatchable disaster. No idea what anyone was thinking here. Big waste of everyones time and probably a lot of money.

The 2004 remake is surprisingly good too.

Good cast, retains a lot of the humour, well put together and a very good ending too.

For me Abbot and Costello could never hope to be as funny as Stan and Ollie. Their chemistry was brilliant on screen.

They were classic!

I mean look at the other duos that came later on:
Cheech and Chong.
Beavis and Butthead.
Ren and Stimpy.
Jay and Silent Bob…

The more and more we go on, it’s seems to be one fine mess after another that we keep getting into! ?

So last night I watched the new All Quiet on the Western Front.
First thing I thought of was it wasn't as depressing as the original, there's something about that one depicting a generation being wiped out that gets too you, I don't think this one gets it across the same.
However it's still a really good film, good adaption on the book. One thing that it does do the original doesn't, is you can see what a bloody mess the place was, that's lost in black and white, the battle scenes are grim
