Last Film You Watched

Re-watched the very first Jeepers Creepers film on Saturday night. Stand by my original opinion, that the opening 30 minutes is as tense and as scary as any modern horror film out there. The relationship and dynamic of the siblings is great, then the introduction of the Creeper was intense.

It's a shame the remaining hour or so fell into the usual contrived monster-horror tropes.
I remember enjoying this when I saw it at the cinema 20 years ago, but kind of went off it once I learned about the director's crimes. He's lucky Coppola kept faith in him after everything that went on.

It`s still very watchable though.

The weaving of the song into the plot of the film is very clever too.

Sequels were dreadful though.

Watched Wonder Woman 1984 at the weekend, it was good, really high concept for a super hero movie, wish I had seen it in a cinema with a bucket of popcorn and 3 pints of coke zero. though I might have burst my bladder, as its 2hours 30 minutes long, so I was glad I could pause it.
I would recommend it, 4 out of 5. Great cast and an interesting story.

Dramatisation of the Mossad operation to capture Adolph Eichman.

Cracking cast, but the problem was the film was always going to have, was how to follow on from the incredibly moving and devastating documentary that showcased his trial in Israel.

As much as you don’t want it to be, it all feels a bit flat and Ben Kingsley just doesn’t do it as Eichman.

Plus the film, kind of gets caught in no mans land, wanting the viewer to know about the atrocities, but shys away from showing them properly.

The 2 minute tribute at the end, had more impact than the whole film unfortunately.
And The Eichman Show was also on TV couple of weeks ago. Drama based on the televising of the trial. Interesting back story.

Magnum Force

Dirty Harry returns for more fun and japes as he takes on David Soul's vigilante motorcycle cops. Also features possibly the finest pimpmobile in cinema history.

Has the same issues as the first Dirty Harry film in its depictions and attitudes but as a simple good guys / bad guys 70's cop film it's pretty good by me. And as a sucker for American 70's cop films it more than does the business.

What We Do In The Shadows

Werewolves not swear-wolves. Excellent and well worth a look if you liked the recent TV series.

Thought it was a cracking horror throughout myself.
