Last Film You Watched

Watched Saint Maud - not bad, and very watchable, but it predictably falls well short of the hype. It gets points for being under 90 mins, though, and it doesn't outstay its welcome.

Dramatisation of the Mossad operation to capture Adolph Eichman.

Cracking cast, but the problem was the film was always going to have, was how to follow on from the incredibly moving and devastating documentary that showcased his trial in Israel.

As much as you don’t want it to be, it all feels a bit flat and Ben Kingsley just doesn’t do it as Eichman.

Plus the film, kind of gets caught in no mans land, wanting the viewer to know about the atrocities, but shys away from showing them properly.

The 2 minute tribute at the end, had more impact than the whole film unfortunately.

Greenland. On Amazon prime. A disaster movie about a comet hitting the earth. Lame and boring after a decent first act. Focuses more on characters than on the visual spectacular stuff, but didn’t land for me at all.
Watched that myself earlier, same opinion really, not that I expected much from Gerrard Butler film.
Just setting down to watch Palmer on Apple TV+

Watched a film called Shame last night, came across it looking for Steve McQueen films I hadnt seen, he directed it but it's a different namesake and too modern haha
Was good film about an sex addict but looking beyond the nudity and some black humor the ending sub plot was quite powerful and meaningful, enjoyed it.
One of my mates was a out of control sex addict and like all addictions they can ruin your life and mind, and this film gets that across well IMO.

I think its a very average disaster movie. Not very inventive and instead tries to
pull at the heartstrings with the family trying to stay together
but not awful either.

Watched a short documentary on netflix about a Latino male accused of murder in Los Angeles. He didn't do it, but the only way they could prove this was that he and the defense realized that he was caught, inadvertantly, in footage of an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm while they filmed at a Dodgers game. Crazy lucky coincidence when the system is stacked against you, as it usually is for most Latino males in LA.

Re-watched the very first Jeepers Creepers film on Saturday night. Stand by my original opinion, that the opening 30 minutes is as tense and as scary as any modern horror film out there. The relationship and dynamic of the siblings is great, then the introduction of the Creeper was intense.

It's a shame the remaining hour or so fell into the usual contrived monster-horror tropes.

The film series was class until they showed you the creeper.

That scene with them seeing a body being dropped down the tunnel gave me nightmares for weeks.
