Last Film You Watched

I saw this when it first came out. I was a wee lad still in high school. That was the only time I ever saw it.

To this day, some of the scenes still haunt me... So in that regard it's a very powerful movie, but maybe not a movie for a seemingly young and innocent teenage boy to be viewing! lol

So sticking in the same genre, I watched this during the week:

It's what you'd call a psychological horror.
After watching it I thought it was an okay film, but it wasn't until days after when I started thinking about the overall theme of the movie, and how the main protagonist's character develops and evolves through the course of the plot, that I realized that it's a actually a pretty well put together film.

Will give that a try

Just watched Netflix’s Beyond The Wire...... typical of these type of films they are churning out really, holds your attention, entertaining but nothing to get excited about. Bit similar quality to the likes of The Old Guard, 6 Underground, Peppermint, Bright etc etc they are producing really. Fair play to Netflix IMO, they keep throwing these out in the absence of any Hollywood blockbusters. They’re clearly lower budget but with little else to do in lock down they provide a distraction for a couple of hours at least....
Said the same about a lot of Netflix stuff, they are decent enough, just lack a certain something

This is relatively expensive on Prime etc for just one film but is free of charge on Sky for those with a subscription - just incase some weren't aware it's on sky cinema

2017 horror film on Amazon at only £1.99, highly recommend it

African American man visits his white girlfriends families estate, this film casts a story of racism as a horror film instead of a drama and is all the more striking for it. What seems a fairly formulaic plot turns out anything but with disturbing secrets and plots and a real twist to boot.

Reckon I'm going to watch Cloverfield again tonight. The original one. I've just got an OLED and about 98% of that movie is at night so I want to see the picture quality difference between that and my old TV. Also have it in 4k so hopefully looks awesome!
Very happy with my TV but I was looking at the OLED's and they did look that bit better but were ridiculously priced at the time for my pocket. Look the absolute business though, especially on blacks and dark scenes.

They're still ridiculously priced. I still have no idea if ink happy with the purchase lol

I will say that the 4k content is unreal

I have an OLED and I love it. However I'm not sure Cloverfield is the best thing to test it out as it is obviously all "found footage" from a video camcorder so purposefully doesn't look that good. I do love the film though so would never discourage someone from watching it again!

I might watch Pitch Black on mine soon as I imagine that would make great use of the screen and I haven't seen it for years.

Wonder Woman 84 is not good. Possibly the worst baddies in a superhero film and the story is just so dull. Shame as I really enjoyed the first one

I thought the same, I was a fan of the first and had high hopes for the 2nd but it was truly terrible. These DC films really can’t get the humour right in their films, they make me cringe. I always think of that scene in justice league when the flash ends up on Wonder Woman’s chest and he gets up and looks really awkward. Most of the film is just her explaining to Chris Pine how the world has changed
