So would my missusI would very much like to hear your seafaring tales of Naples from days gone by lol

As each year passes, my tales by and large tend to be exaggerated for dramatic effect. Suffice to say as a young thrusting buck forty odd years back, I had some hair raising experiences that looking back I wonder how I dared carry on the way I did. What goes on in Naples stays in Naples![]()
Think the French can be a bit smug about that sort of thing.Anyone ever bought a DVD, foreign language film and its turned out there were no subtitles? I mean a European DVD, R2 but not a UK release, or do they pretty much all have English subtitles?
It's a bit of a lottery in many ways, but the different Amazon sites around Europe often say in the product details if/what subs are included (it's not always completely accurate, though). I wouldn't say that most R2 discs across Europe come with English subs, not by a long stretch. Copyright & distribution issues come into it, too. Over the years I've bought loads of DVDs of French films in France - some have English subs, but most probably don't, and on balance it's much more likely a disc won't have them. If there's any particular DVDs you're looking for, let me know here (or PM me) and I can try to find out for you.Anyone ever bought a DVD, foreign language film and its turned out there were no subtitles? Sorry for my drunken posts previously
The 1969 one? There is a UK DVD of it with English audio (Arrow distributed it), but I'm guessing you specifically need the subs? Not sure which version is on the UK DVD, and I know there are at least a couple of different cuts of the film.Nice one Daz, the one im after im told hasnt got English subs, Yugoslavian film called Battle of Neretva, i was going to buy this Scandanavian DVD but ill pass on it and find another source.
Subtitles can be odd, ive had a film on video years ago and then bought a DVD and the text has been different haha
O thanks for that info, ive just found a source for the copy of the Arrow release, have to decide on that or try to find one with the original language and subs. I watched Magnificent Seven again the other day and it jogged my memory on Yul Brynner filmsThe 1969 one?
