I find thats women in general,they can watch 5/6 soap operas on the bounce and tell you everything about them,plus the whom le history of said soaps,but cant seem to follow a film plot or watch and read subtitles at the same time

It would help if she wasn't playing games on her phone

It really wouldnt,years ago me and the ex used to spend friday nights with a visit to the off licence,a take away and the video shop,we would pick one film we liked then one we could both watch,every friday late on would be spent trying to explain film plots,one was the Exorcist,at the end the 1st question was "so what was wrong with her"

We have polar opposites in tastes when it comes to TV, film and books.

9pm every evening sees me in another room watching decent stuff, rather than than the pap that she watches - 7pm on a Saturday, as there`s no way I`m watching all that Saturday night Valium for the nation stuff.

Luckily we have simolar tastes in tv/music so that isn't the problem.

I could watch in other room but then, depending on the mood, run the risk of other things like accusations of neglect

I used to get that until I called her bluff - I`d watch one of her films, if she watched one of mine.

I watched Mama Mia with her ( which was torture ) and she then had to watch Bone Tomahawk with me.

Needless to say the agreement ended that very night and I was free to return to the other room lol

My missus isn't too bad in that regard. In fact she's very good at guessing the plot. I also have a bad habit of falling asleep (even during favourite shows) and she frequently brings me upto date when I wake up

Its all about them.
Something they're not interested in, which usually needs to be closely followed, and its jjbber jabber, jibber jabber about some such shight or other.
Thats when subtitles come in handy
