My Friend Dahmer - Film4.

Taken from a graphic novel of the same name.

The lead - Ross Lynch is outstanding as the teenage Dahmer, creepy, weird and brooding.

The problem with the film is that up until his parents divorce unleashes his demons and tips him into cannibalism and serial killing, Dahmer is just a run of the mill odd kid and not very interesting. Which in turn makes most of the film dull.

It’s a shame, as all the actors put a decent shift in.

Agree with this. Could and should have been a lot more. Would of actually made a better series than a film I think.

I felt like they bottled it and stayed away from the nasty stuff, that was screaming out that there was something wrong with him - his collecting of road kill, the laboratory he had in the shed, with his collection of animal parts, later on the pets he was killing.

I think the graphic novel it came from is only about 30 pages long, so I`m guessing they padded a lot of it.

They missed a real chance with it, as Ross Lynch was perfect as the young Dahmer.

@neil999 as promised I found something very dark last night !

Bloodline.

One of those films you overlook on Netflix.

Sean William Scott plays a high school councillor, who decides to start punishing the abusive fathers of the boys he councils with extreme prejudice.

Scott puts in a standout performance and shows there’s more to him than American Pie.

Some really good twists, filmed in a real 70’s Brian de Palma style, but let down slightly by a silly ending.

Watched two films last night one was the invisible man and Dark Waters.

Invisible man was ok, worth the watch.

Never heard about the case behind Dark Waters but really enjoyed this film. Mark Ruffolo plays a good part. Worth the watch

Not seen that. I enjoyed Looking for Eric, but I think that was simply Eric Cantona being Eric Cantona that did that.

Even The Angels Share which was supposed to be one of his lighter pieces had me grinding my (sugar rotted, NHS neglected, BUPA not-covered) teeth to stumps.

We all have the things we "should" like that we don't. I find Ken Loach absolutely insufferable.
Land and Freedom is superb. About the Spanish Civil War if you haven't seen it.

I watched for the fact I loved the original and the premise of the story you would think it csnt be done wrong, plus I like Perlman, unfortunately the re-make has every type of cliche and Perlman must appear for 10/15 mins in a near 2 hour film,Im thinking of giving Invisible man a view but flashbacks of Kevin Bacon in Hollow man is putting me off
Hollow Man does, however, have one particularly great scene.
