Last Film You Watched

I believe they're actually planning for a triolgy of Shazam films along with a stand-alone Black Adam movie due out between the second and third.

I read that too, but I guess it depends how successful the first film is, I think its tough when films are only classed as successful if they make a $1B. Shazam cost around $90m to make and so far has made over $260m I think it will probably clear $400m after the easter break and bluray etc, which is not a bad return, but its a long way short of Aquaman

International B.O. top five for Shazam's first week.

Pulp Fiction at the Ritz on 35mm. Probably hadn't seen it for quite a few years, but really does hold up on the big screen. Lots of things to experience again. The quality. I kind of feel like Tarantino retro styles his films a little too much nowadays, but this is perfect. Looking at through the prism of modernity, where everything is such clear quality, it's actually refreshing to think this looks and feels like it was supposed to. Grain, slight skips on reel changes, there's a real texture to it I hadn't seen previously. The script and the performances are as good and as sharp as ever. Keitel, Roth and Plummer, Rhames, Arquette and Thurman. It did reignite the careers of Willis and Travolta, and here they are superb, but it's Jackson that lights up the film. He's the only one with an actual character arc with a solid realisation that he needs to change. Other things I noticed : Kathy Griffen?! The background window of Jack Rabbit Slims and the sim trav driving stuff are done in the same colour style. Travolta taking a dump. Every time he is actually needed he is on the bog. This and Shawshank Redemption came out the exact same day.

The Silence. Jesus what an absolute stinker. The Chaperone. Simple, nicely told, doesn't get too deep and feels like a back story episode of Downton Abbey. Vice was a decent, middle of the road effort, but quite forgettable in every way. The Boy. Maggie from Walking Dead could look after me anytime, but this one falls pretty flat when it could have been a solid horror. Blackkklansman. I thought it was kind of a strange film. Pretty funny, it played more like a comedy when i thought it would be more a serious take. I did like it though, but it seemed to play it too safe in a way, epitomised by Topher Grace, who's not to say he's a bad actor, just could have been someone a little zanier in the David Duke role.
