Watched the Wicker Man, having never seen it before. Utterly utterly mental film
I liked it. Visually spectacular. Had read the book years ago so knew the story.Very odd film
Thinking of seeing it next week, as it`s had good reviews ?Game night, it was ok.
OK, QUITE CLICHED, WEIRD END.
It was cliched in that there were 3 acts and it was a film, but I thought it was fairly different overall tbh
tHE ONLY BIT THAT WAS DIFFERENT WAS THE END
Any film where an alien/unknown has arrived and they have to send a "crack squad" to go in and sort it. If it was 4 blokes (led by a veteran whom they coax into "just one last mission") it would have been the ultimate cliche obvs.wHAT WOULD YOU HAVE LIKENED THE FIRST HALF TO?

Yes, good fun probably sums it up, a sort of "caper" Oceans 11 type of film.I saw it a couple weeks ago. Good fun. Love the main actor (ever since Arrested Development) who's name has completely slipped my mind atm!
I'd read the book first, which is excellent.View attachment 44974
Finally got round to watching this, the first 10 munutes or so are quite good then its downhill from there, for characters that you have no interest in what happens to them get chased through a forest by what appears to be a pantomime horse on crack, dont bother with it
Not read the book mate, just thought it was a very bland film, would quite happily have seen all the characters dieI'd read the book first, which is excellent.
I enjoyed the film, even though it strays quite a lot from the book - the bit where they end up in the ancient religious buildings towards the end, is totally different than the book.
They were never going to capture the sheer terror of being hunted in the forest in the film.
ANNIHILATION.
