Each to their own, but the unrelenting bleakness and savagery, is a big part of McCarthy`s writing style, hence why it`s been very hard to date, to turn his books into films. No Country for Old Men, being the exception so far.I thought it was really good.
There's always a balance to be made between, showing the extreme reality and violence and not showing it, just for shock value?
They got the balance right, I thought anyway.
