TBH my son wanted to bin it after one hour - it was me who thought it would develop- he was spot on imo!
Great acting from known stars - falls very short of a tried Coen brothers rip off imo;)

Right here it is @Joey66, my verdict, having just come back from watching - Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri.

An early contender for a film of the year.

Frances McDormand - nailed on for an Oscar.

Sam Rockwell - In the running for best supporting actor.

Nearly as good as anything that the Cohen brothers have done. The cinematography isn't as good. ( which doesn't detract from the film in anyway. )

Some incredibly funny politically incorrect black humour, some incredibly tender moments too.

Superb script, superb cast and superb acting.

Anyone who likes the Cohen brothers stuff, Fargo etc, will love this.

Ignore what Joey Bananas says, this is a wonderful film.

@coollino your thoughts sir ?

Just knew it obviously mogadon symptoms pm me the pathetic ending then?

5) Lion - Now then, I'm 42. I've NEVER cried at a film before (excluding Pixar's Up - but that cheats and just hits you like a freight train of grief out of nowhere at the start). Man alive, this thing had me in bits. My forehead hurt from trying to resist. Proper heart string tugger. Great rendition of a true story and an amazing performance from the little kid who plays the lead for the first 2/3 of the flick. Good film. Will not watch again.

6) The Foreigner - this is more like it. Jackie Chan vs Gerry Adams. The showdown we've all been waiting for over the years. In fairness, it's not as bad as it could have been. It's not great by a long stretch, but a 60 year old Jackie Chan both playing and behaving like a 60+ year old Jackie Chan elevates it above what it could have been. Best thing I've seen Pierce Brosnan in probably since The Matador too. Worth a look if you've got nowt else to do on a Wednesday evening.

I've never cried at a film like I did with Lion - braved it twice now

YOU WAS RIGHT
Two wrongs don't make a right- I did get support from one poster it's all about opinions- glad you enjoyed it;)

Thought it was brilliant, as you say - turns from a comedy to sad in a matter of seconds and then back again. It wasn't even about Billboards that much.

@Joey66 I assume you watched the leaked Screener version. Many of the screeners are not the final film that goes out in the cinema... (Due to their tendancy to leak)

What was wrong with the ending??

I'm looking forward to this. It looks ace. The casting looks quality from the trailer.
