Guess both Coens' and Nolan are victims of their own success in a way. Still making slighty non conventional films on a Hollywood budget.
I'm not even Nolan's biggest fan yet I think I have spent more time defending him then my fave directors lol
Get what you are saying but you still should learn about some of the characters in the film. Makes you become involved when watching. It's called good story telling even if it was a snapshot of time. Like I said the two main characters at the start barely said any worlds in the first half of the film.
