Last Film You Watched

5) Lion - Now then, I'm 42. I've NEVER cried at a film before (excluding Pixar's Up - but that cheats and just hits you like a freight train of grief out of nowhere at the start). Man alive, this thing had me in bits. My forehead hurt from trying to resist. Proper heart string tugger. Great rendition of a true story and an amazing performance from the little kid who plays the lead for the first 2/3 of the flick. Good film. Will not watch again.

6) The Foreigner - this is more like it. Jackie Chan vs Gerry Adams. The showdown we've all been waiting for over the years. In fairness, it's not as bad as it could have been. It's not great by a long stretch, but a 60 year old Jackie Chan both playing and behaving like a 60+ year old Jackie Chan elevates it above what it could have been. Best thing I've seen Pierce Brosnan in probably since The Matador too. Worth a look if you've got nowt else to do on a Wednesday evening.
You need to lose the ' Now then ' bit in your summary.

Just watched Dunkirk and it was a massive disappointment. Thought it was dull and boring apart from one scene. The two main characters barely said a word in the first half of the film. Characters were poor apart from the man and his kids on the boat. No emotional attachment to any others in the film. Was really looking forward to watching it as well but it was very poor.

It's like we watched the same movie...

Finally saw Baby Driver.

Really enjoyed it. Would have liked it more if there was less shooting and more of the 50's runaway/Badlands kind of stuff but still good.

But the whole point was that you were not meant to be emotionally invested in the characters life as it was a snapshot of time.
