Just watched the longest version of Das Boot, Such a good film.
Can't imagine how rough it must of been on a uboat, getting stuck on a sunk one on the sea bed must of been horrific, that' what I liked about the film, builds up tension, everyone being so quiet on it at times adds to that, amazing film

Give K-19 Widowmaker a go. Some liberties taken in the movie, but the actual K-19 crew gave their stamp of approval on it for authenticity.

If that`s the subtitled version, it`s one of the best war films ever made.

The way they build up the claustrophobia is incredible.

The ending stays with you for a long time afterwards.

* The book is superb too.

Did anyone here get to go in U-534 when it was at Birkenhead (and not cut up into three bits)? It was incredible how small it was inside, and that was one of the big ones.
