Lars Agent says "He wants to stay…"

I think it's a no-brainer that we should keep him.

But, I think Lars has said that he wants to be the first choice right-back. So unless he's guaranteed that I don't think he'll stay. I don't think he'll be guaranteed that. So...

It's an interesting situation. He's done ok when he's come in but I think long term neither he or Hibbo will be up to the job of replicating what Baines has done on the other flank. Can they provide a stop gap until Coleman progresses? Is Coleman good enough?

Sign him up.

Freebie, and I have no doubts that with a decent run of games he can compliment Baines and be a very useful asset.

Hey, how about that?

A player that wants to play for Everton.

I think he certainly gives us some depth at the rb position and if I'm not mistaken, depth is one thing that Everton has been sorely lacking over the past several years.

Well, between:

RB: Hibbert, Jacobsen (Neville)

CB: Jags, Yobo, Lescott

LB: Baines, Valente, (Lescott)

I'd say that we've got pretty good depth in the defense.

Sign the man up.

Now, the season is over we need some answer to this question, is he or is he not going to stay with us?

Personally I think he has done enough to merit a new contract, and it would save us having to spend money to buy a RB, when we know Jacobsen could do a pretty good job.

Why not? spend the money on a midfielder like Joao Moutinho would do nicely and we might need to find a back-up to Jagielka who is injure or Baines, as Valente looks past it now.

Anyone is better than hibbert . I could sit here and wait for the next human to walk past my house and collar them and I would lay my families lives on the line that they would be better than Hibbert .

I like Lars but, hes similar to Hibbo and Nev in the same positition, that the deal breaker for me, if he could offer us some pace or width rather then just a steady performence a big yes.

We need a pacey right back with a decent delivery goign forward and who doesnt get made a mug of going back, even a youngster with the attributes we could hone for a season or two. It fair to say our right side needs serious surgery.

After last Saturday I saw our weakness and I tend to agree. To push on a right back is on top of our list along with a true right sided midfielder.

It's quite simple we seem to have a pretty good defence line, and it time we work on our attacking side of things, so giving Jacobsen a new contract is a start.

Then we could work on getting the new midfield player, let's hope Moyes get his fund early rather than later on the season.

On Sky Sports web site today, Lars will hold talks with DM when he returns from International Duty with Denmark.

"Everton comes first for me, if we can find a way to proceed," Jacobsen told Sporten.dk.

"I've had a meeting with David Moyes and we have arranged for a new meeting after the qualifying game. Then we will see if we can get a new deal in place.

"Right now I am only concentrating on the qualifier and don't want to waste time and energy on negotiating with Everton before the game is played.

"The game against Sweden is big, because it's one of my biggest goals in my career to get to a World Cup."

Hope DM can get him signed up, First choice right-back next season IMO.

Sky Sports | Football | Transfer Centre | Possible Deal | Jacobsen has offers on table

"I have other possibilities, both in England and other countries if things don't fall out as I hope with Everton," said Jacobsen.

"I can see myself playing for another club in Premier League, because I like the mentality and the game."

Jacobsen was a substitute in last week's FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea, coming on to replace Tony Hibbert at half-time and says despite the loss, he enjoyed the experience.

He added: "I was really annoyed not to start in the FA Cup final, but I got substituted on at half-time. It was a great experience, even though we lost to Chelsea.
