Lap of appreciation

This.

It's a 58 point season as things stand and we were knocked out of both cups early.

These players must be pissing themselves when they get adulation for that. No wonder we win f.a. these days.

The lap of appreciation is an opportunity for the players to show their appreciation to the fans, not the other way round.

I'll be staying, some wont, that's OK. I'm not celebrating mediocrity by doing so, and neither is anybody else. Nor are those leaving at the final whistle making a statement.

The point stands: you show appreciation of support by pulling your tripes out and getting as many points in a season as you can. If 58 points so far is your idea of this lot pulling tripes out then you're welcome to your viewpoint.

I think the players should come out 1 at a time and we can choose to clap them or not,
I'm picturing the gladiator type judgement

Can't wait to see Rom do a 5 yard burst, then spend the rest of the lap waving his arms in the air and pointing to the space in front of his feet.

We should have stoned them last season then..

58 points? Last season we had 47, with 2 games to go we are right now 11 points better off with 6 to still play for, the manager and players have done a great job of turning us around. The last time we improved that much in a season was 2004-05.

We have moved forward 4 places, we havent progressed that much since we moved 5 places in 2006-07.

We have scored more goals this season then we have since 1999-00

This has been a very good season, ok going ut the cups early was a shame, but we havent won a cup since 1995 so not winning one is nothing new.

However soon as the final whistle goes im off for the train :)

would you prefer having a nice cool pint or watching some heavily paid individuals having a stroll around a lawn clapping every now and then mmmmm

This is a modernish thing,I can't recall it happenning in the 1970's or early 1980's,first one I can remember was 1985 West Ham when we won the league ,then they started doing it every season, funniest one was when "Crazy"Ray Atteveld stripped off throwing his gear into the crowdlollol

No. Just no.

It hasn't been a bad season overall. We bottled both cup competitions which was a shame because they are something we should be putting more energy into. Home form has been superb, bit of a slow start in my opinion with Koeman not sure on his best eleven for the first few months but eventually got there and I think we agree with his team selections. Football has been good to watch at home but on the road it has been disappointing. I thought after overturning WBA and thrashing Sunderland away that it would be a good season away from home but that Chelsea thrashing in November set the bar for more poor displays. We were unlucky at Old Trafford and felt we deserved the points, if we look at the games like Bournemouth away, Hull away, Watford away, we could have been sitting in a champions league spot now.

See what the players are like tonight, nothing for them to play for so will probably be like watching paint dry. Give Lookman a go from the start and DCL one last game to prove himself. Schneiderlin will be back tonight I assume so kind of expecting a clean sheet for us and a dire performance from Watford.

Slow start? The best start to a season for 10 years!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe not as good as your hero Martinez's famous 72 points in his 1st season. The last 2 seasons have been atrocious though and this has been a far better season if you cannot see that Dave you are living in a Martinez fantasy land.
