We have him next season. I am convinced he will still be with us.

This is like his settling in period. So next season, he will have been with the team over 6 months.

Cant fool me....

I really hope not. Hope we're not paying his wages while he's injured either.

*sigh*

What a waste of our time and meagre resources.

Dont understand that @davek why is it? If we've done a deal on his wages like I imagine we have as otherwise he would have gone back to Monaco and he can still potentially make an impact at the end of the season in our final push I would much rather him still be available to play rather than not- surely?

I meant bringing him in in the first place. If he's here he may as well stay - we have no options, I suppose.

We badly missed the boat not getting a striker good to go in January. False economy waiting until the summer.

I dont see the excitement that martinez thinks he is bringing to the fans with these sorts of things.

So when we play Hull on the last game of the season we can play
Gibson (clearly wont get in ahead of our current),
Traore (played one game in god knows how long, clearly not going to play)
Kone (surely behind Traore as even less match fitness)
Oviedo (wishful thinking)

So really none of the returning injured are even going to be first choice over our current players.

Imagine if we had those 4 available now though? You would be looking at 4th and saying that's ours for the taking.

And Kone would have won us the spurs game, not arsed he seems the type to score in those games.

I hope that he isn't expected to stay next season. Not a lot of pace or physical power from the brief bit we saw...not much good in the air (although Big Dunc might be able to improve that?) and legs that seem more fragile than a crane fly.
If Roberto is hoping that he stays it would seem that Bill has already decided that we are not going to try to make a move to sign Lukaku permanently. Shame.

I see where you are coming from, but maybe it was seen as too good an opportunity to miss with not much available? If he hadnt had this injury and carried on playing and scoring a few it would have been seen as great business, he got this injury and thats sometimes how it goes.

I think he should stay, hopefully he can make an impact and notch a few before the season is out.

Anyone thought this through?

~Considering the business we are currently doing, rather than actually spending all our surplus we;

Let Lukaku go back. Don't/Can't buy him and he is banging them in for chelsea / anyone else next year.

Loan Traore (due to lack of fitness in monaco's eyes) for the whole season as our striker.

Sign noone else up front and run with him and kone as our goal scorers for the season.

So where are we spending our money if not up front?
