thing is he cant make ANY mistakes on transfers, look at some of the rubbish rodgers has bought -11 mill on borini 15 mill on allen, martinez would get SLAUGHTERED if he had done that, moyes had the same issue..but its worse with martinez because he's trying to improve us

thus these 'risky' signings

It's risky bringing in any player, but one with Traore's track record and existing injury in January should have had had Roberto walking in the opposite direction very fast. I dont put the blame ultimately at his door for taking a chance. But he cant be agreeing to let players go out the door without first securing much better replacements for them. I think he pacified the board with the Jelavic sale. That's what it feels like. He's been paid back for that by seeing his second half of the season take a severe dent as we've struggled to cope without strengthenng. Maybe he thought he could cope. But this game is cruel with timings and he's basically been caught out.

I'm 100% a supporter of Martinez, he's unquestionably been an upgrade on Moyes. But he's shot himself in the foot with an outrageously lame January transfer window. I hope we never see that level of caving in to these clowns in the boardroom again. If he cant stand up to them and get at least what he brings in through player sales, those upbeat, ultra-positive soundbites of his are going to be resented rather than revered.

Heehee.

The way people on here have turned on moyes after worshipping him is so weird.

Now he's being accused of actively trying to make us worse.

He was terrible the other day I can't remember him winning a header .
I was chatting to a Newcastle fan yesterday and he said when traore played against Newcastle in Europe last year he hardly got a kick. Was beaten to the ball by his marker every time according to him. And that was vs newcastles 2nd string apparently.

You're essentially asking him to rebel against the people writing his wage slips and that's not going to happen. He'll go with what he's given and toe the line, at least in public.

Only fooling himself when he says the January transfer window was a success. Any Evertonian who bought into that is deluding themselves.

This really does have the potential to be one of our most disastrous transfer deals ever.

Good job it is only a loan deal otherwise we would be near suicidal on here.

Did'nt think Martinez could make a worse signing than Kone but he's done it again with Troare but the latter has just killed all the respect i had for him, the clown has'nt got a clue when it comes to forwards or the final third

No mate, I'm asking that he merely stands by his own words to come out of a transfer window stronger than going into it. It wasn't a particularly high bar to get over. He didn't do it though.

I've got no fundamental problem with Martinez. I support him all the way. But if you lie down with dogs you're in danger of catching fleas. I'm just saying the situation needs to be watched. I personally never spared the last manager over his craven ways with the board, so I have to be consistent. I dont think Martinez will be like Moyes though. If he's forced into sacrificing his and our ambitions again I can see him getting off to pastures new and leaving Kenwright to stew in his own piss.
