Current Affairs Labour and Anti Semitism.......

The problem though Roydo is that the constituencies can be taken over, as they were in the 80’s in Liverpool, by militant, now morphed into momentum. This unfortunately happens on a cycle with Labour.....

Guff. It's reactionary to the consequences of extremist conservative policy. People want a fairer society, that's the top and bottom of it and playing at McCarthyism is an old, ignorant and unintelligent argument. Well done.

I’ve been a times reader/subscriber for years and even though I don’t consider myself a particular corbyn loyalist or even really a fan I’m probably going to stop reading it . The anti-corbyn rhetoric has become almost All consuming .

What irritates me is just how silly it has all become.

He has been repeatedly asked to have a firmer stance on anti-Semitism, and as a means of showing his militant opposition to it he has decided to appear at the Tuesday's Labour Party NEC meeting in which the IHRA definition is being discussed - and in doing so will have to miss a meeting with the intelligence agency - with some Labour MPs now citing him as a danger to national security.

We need to have a proper clearout of those within Labour who constantly and consistently undermine the parties attempts to win power - left or right.

Im so uncomfortable with the undermining of the leadership, it just doesn’t sit right . However I can’t help but think he’s been badly advised over the whole thing . How I’d do it differently I’m not sure I could list specifically but I just seems to have been all over the show from the start. We’ve had the denial of it being an issue to ok it’s an issue but not a big one to sorry yeah it’s bad. I can’t help but think an early statement about anti-semitism being unacceptable would have prevented this ridiculous drip drip .once you choose a path though the apologies look poor and I’m not even sure they’re necessary .

I think you can see the political naivety of corbyn and his people in this , It’s what my late father would have described as not knowing if they’re Arthur or Martha .

This is the one valid criticism of Corbyn this summer. He could - should - have come out much earlier and explained his views, but instead there has been largely silence punctuated by some tweets when Bibi mentioned it. What makes it worse is that this was the one valid criticism of him during the election as well - that he holds a view (then it was over Trident) but does not bother to explain why he holds it, he just assumes everyone should know already.

It is an abdication of responsibility, and it would be fatal if he did it as PM where the challenges he will face will be of a far greater scale than the cretinry among the PLP.

You're not wrong.

Being beholden to handful of self serving media luvvie MPs who happen to be right of the Labour party, who will never except a reference of social democracy, they can go fourth and multiply with one member one vote. Just like democratic elected leader that can be vetted by proper democratic process and that's the real beef of the cretinry of the right of Parliamentary Labour Party, like all power hungry, they spout bile at any challenge, role on one member one vote.

The Times are reporting that some "Labour" rebels are planning a vote of new confidence in Jeremy Corbyn.

This was always on their agenda after he won the vote to become leader. There are some who will never accept Corbyn as leader and will do all in their power to wreck Labour's chances of winning the next election while he is leader. The latest designs are being concocted to split the Labour party as some did in the 1980's when they formed the SDP because they said the Labour party had become 'too left wing'. The Blairites in the Labour party will not rest until Corbyn has gone and they will continue to agitate by foul means to undermine him.

Think it will make it stronger. After all Corybn is a Czech / Russian spy. IRA funder ETC ETC and now the reborn sporn of Hitler and Stalin according to the Mail, Express and News International.

People and the modern age see through the lies of papers now.

No doubt, but he’s not really showing any kind of leadership and letting the thugs do the dirty work....intolerance and abuse is now the pervading character....

All of which is true, but surely that means he should take on and challenge these people and explain to the rest of us why he supports Palestinian rights?

I know why he does, so do many here but to the public it’s something far away where all the people on TV and in the papers are telling us something else.

There was far more intolerance and abuse under Blair/Brown/Miliband than I have seen under Corbyn.

I see this as an issue of democracy, and adhering to the principles that formed the Labour Party. My belief is that the Labour Party needs to be the driving force behind seeing democracy permeate throughout society.

Part of that is mandatory reselection of candidates, and ensuring that those who feel the need to resign the Labour whip are legally obliged to stand for re-election.
