Current Affairs Labour and Anti Semitism.......

Not the biggest Tony Benn fan, but I recall seeing a video of him likening Roy Jenkins for being a cancer to the Labour movement.

I have the same sentiments for many so called Labour MPs right now

The Labour leadership should put all thoughts of the next election aside, forget about the British media and just deal with the Pro-Zionist apartheid apologists in its own party...who are exactly the same people who a) launched two coups against their leadership and b ) are the neo-liberal, free market entryists who burrowed their way into the LP in the 80s and 90s.

I'd also make a statement that if the party won the next election it would put in motion a process to hand over Tony Blair, Alistair Campbell, Jack Straw, Peter Mandelson - and all their acolytes of 'The War on Terror' who survive as Labour MPs today - to a war crimes tribunal for their part in the deaths of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of men women and children.

This business over "anti-semitism" should be turned into a strength.

Frank Fields is using 'anti semitism' to hide behind and add ammunition to those attacking Corbyn. Don't remember him being in parliament when the anti Corbyn 'anti semitism' debate took place in April. Maybe he was too busy that day.

Possibly too busy picking his donations up from the Labour Friends of Israel and their funds for sticking a big Zionist ore into British politics.

Field always seemed a bit of a Ted - an apparent expert on poverty and welfare yet the one time he was given the opportunity to really achieve and influence policy in those areas, with a cabinet post under Blair, he made a show of himself. Completely unable to articulate anything workable or build political support and was shelled out in a year.

Not that it's easy to roll up to cabinet and start cleaning house - meaningful reform of process and legislature is hard as balls. Exceptionally challenging. So it's not that he failed, more that he's such an obvious backbench bullshitter and this resignation seems entirely in line with that behaviour.

That is nonsense though. Corbyn rebelled a lot but even in his most rebellious phase sided with Labour 75% of the time.

Field on the other hand deliberately backed an ERG proposal that they’d forced on May, and that was after years of on-off collaboration with the Tories. If he had been an ordinary Labour member they’d have purged him in 2016 (when they tried to fix the second leadership vote and kicked out people who had expressed support for other parties) and probably at several points from 2008 onwards.

Also please stop this “cult” daftness - the reasons why people support Corbyn should be obvious.

What are these ‘obvious’reasons to support him.....

Gets my vote......

I wonder if he felt he had to apologise to the Jewish Chronicle, for 'not defending Israel' enough as Luciana Berger felt she had to in 2016.

"Britain's youngest Jewish MP, Luciana Berger, is facing criticism over her record of defending Israel since being elected to Parliament.

Ms Berger, 30, was Labour Friends of Israel director for three years before stepping down last year to fight her election campaign in the Liverpool Wavertree constituency.

There was an expectation that she would be a leading pro-Israel voice in Parliament.

But critics say there is a feeling within the city's Jewish community and among Israel supporters that she has steered clear of raising the issue in order to protect her career.

On her website Ms Berger describes her former role without mentioning the word "Israel". The "about Luciana" section of the site states: "Before being elected I ran a not-for-profit campaigning and education organisation which works for peace in the Middle East. "

Ms Berger has not mentioned Israel on any occasion while speaking in the House. She declined to comment, but the JC understands she staunchly defends her pro-Israel efforts. It is thought she feels "unlucky" not to have been called to speak during Foreign Office Questions.

The description of LFI on her website is the same as one used by the group under her directorship. She is now a member of the International Council of Jewish Parliamentarians and the Jewish Labour Movement'.

The official opposition shouldn’t bother focusing on winning a general election.

Sorry what? Is it really more important to you that the leadership cement the Labour Party as a hard left party, as opposed to winning a general election?

Dave has also said that he would rather Corbyn carry on sitting on the fence rather than actually oppose the Brexit policy of the government. All seems a bit muddled.

Yes not like Jezza, a mere 35 years in his comfortable seat.

Indeed, everyone can see why Corbyn has been kept on fringes until recently, he challenges the comfy Humphreys, any MP should be deselected and answerable to the electorate, not just at election time!

So why is Field getting hammered? He's been voted in overwhelmingly for decades now, so it would appear the electorate are quite keen on him? It seems like local party folk are the ones that want him out, not the electorate.
