I personally do not like frank field one bit, he’s a Merseyside MP who regularly writes for that rag of a ‘paper’, unworthy of being a birkenhead MP on that reason alone for me.
However, corbynites arguing he should’ve been deselected for voting against his party are hypocrites of the highest order. I’d have more respect for corbynites if they admitted they’re part of a cult and will back him no matter what, rather than pretend there’s principles behind what they say

That is nonsense though. Corbyn rebelled a lot but even in his most rebellious phase sided with Labour 75% of the time.
Field on the other hand deliberately backed an ERG proposal that they’d forced on May, and that was after years of on-off collaboration with the Tories. If he had been an ordinary Labour member they’d have purged him in 2016 (when they tried to fix the second leadership vote and kicked out people who had expressed support for other parties) and probably at several points from 2008 onwards.
Also please stop this “cult” daftness - the reasons why people support Corbyn should be obvious.
I'm glad Frank Field has gone. He is a repugnant man.
