Maybe some, but I couldn't say I particularly like Blaenavon, Merthyr, Newport, Cardiff, etc. I know some sound people live in the Valleys, but geographically and culturally it's an industrial pit imo.

It’s odd isn’t it, but more and more it seems to be solidifying.......

It will solidify much more mate. Most of my bets in 2017 were Lab in any university place they didn't have and Cons in any place there wasn't one (and in each case where the other held). It's a 2017 thing really though, in the lead up to 2015 it was far more sharply pronounced in terms of North/South.

I think the trend will continue too. The Conservatives under Osborne had a real go at winning younger people but I think increasingly they are settling more for their core voters (which is a mistake but hey ho).

I've got friends who live in the Cynon Valley. Christ, what a dark, depressing place. I can feel my mood worsen as I drive up the A470 on my way to visit them. It's no wonder half the population is on the sick. It'd do for me.

That may be a mistranslation or misunderstanding - the part where that article says that is right after it mentions Salameh, who was responsible for the planning of Munich (ie: they were saying that Bseiso worked with Salameh, who planned Munich). This is the relevant bit:
