From Sheff forums

Naughton doesn't want to go but is being forced to by Mccabe as he wants the money in the bank to secure the blades financial security, the only acceptable move in Naughtons mind is one to Everton.
Walker wants to move for the money to spurs but only if Naughton is gonna be there too, he's feeling a little lonely down there poor lad and Everton don't want him.
MCcabe is now seeing this as a battle of wills, if they both stay he's gonna look like a chunt and see's his position as untenable with the flack he's gonna get from all sides if the "truth" gets out though he is putting the clubs finances first in all honesty.
Blackwell can accept losing Naughton but not walker as well and he has made that clear.
The whole saga is a [Poor language removed] up to be honest that's why no concrete decisions have been made on the incoming transfers, well not the big ones anyway, the people KB is trying to bring in want clarity and are getting ****ed off with it all and are threatening to accept other deals if it's not sorted soon. ( 2 strikers and possibly a defender)
In short the whole club is being made a laughing stock because of Mccabes stance on this, he's even talked about walking away rather than be made to look a chunt and risk the clubs future, the fans want prem class players but if they are brought in this year and we don't take advantage of the offer for both Kyles now he feels the club will be risking doing a leeds if it goes tits up and he's not willing to risk his investment that far.
There's also been talk of someone else being approached about the managers job at the lane.

Last Tuesday both Naughton and Walker were in London with Spurs. Naughton was dispondant and disinterested. Walker on the other hand was impressed and eager to ask questions etc.

Naughton told Spurs management that he was confused and wanted time to think about where to move, saying moving South would be a big thing for him. As soon as Spurs were told this they contacted SU and tried to renegotiate a deal for Walker only. While at Spurs both players undertook fitness tests and Walker expressed his desire to sign

Anyway I received an email from Danny & Marco this morning saying that Walker has 100% signed and Naughton has not, will not and that's the end of it.

Walker will be confirmed by tomorrow. Fee will be £3m with add ons.

Was this poster's name 'Deane's Boots' by any chance?

Can't be disappinted if that is the result. Save cash on a player we were pretty much getting forced to buy and just get naughton.

Naughton sounds like a guy who knows what he wants and I respect that. Especially if what he wants is to play here :)

So, wonder if we have enuf money for Naughton, Cana and Elm..
C'mon Big Bill, Break the bank!

So Barlows Boots. Naughton thought Moyes was like a headmaster? Guess he wants to join the School of Science after all.

Huzzah

All ius well

Hang on...What did I say before about unfounded rumours on forums???

May have to check

Don't know if this was already posted, but comes from an Everton fan posting at Sheffield United's Footy mad forum. Seems like a far fetched construction to me.

walker has signed for spurs but sheff wont confirm deal or release his registration till naughtons future is concluded

naughton has point blank refused to sign and has told spurs he wont move south.

everton are his choice but wont raise the offer to 8m that spurs agreed to pay as they have a signed agreement of 4.5m everton have offerd to raise it to 5.5 but sheff wont.

the fa are now involved and everton are believed to be playing the legal hard ball as the agreement is binding.

spurs and everton are now working together to resolve the saga one option is spurs sending naughton loan to everton and sell him to everton in 12 months time but sheff have thrown a hissy fit as spurs have said walker wont be returning on loan if this is how deals concluded
