Just read this from the sky transfer stop watch.

13.10 Skysports.com understands Tranmere Rovers full-back Andy Taylor is undergoing a medical ahead of a proposed move to Sheffield United.

Make of that what you will. I have not sourced Andy Taylor to find out if he is a right or left back. Clearly Naugton is leaving and it looks like a replacement has been sourced pronto.

Where Naughton ends up? In the lap of the Gods, or the purse string of spurs. But, I believe in good over evil and I thnk we will get him.

This about sums up why Spurs are making such a last ditch effort to poach Naughton. From Newsnow feed this morning:

Tilting at Toffees | THEspursweb

Do Spurs and the rest of the Prem exclusive of the big 4 truly view Everton as their target? Flattering. 'Arry's move isn't as much to sign Naughton to improve Spurs (they're already loaded at RB) but to keep Everton from getting stronger. If that's the strategy the others want to take, they're fools - Moyes will outfox and outclass them every step of the way starting with developing talent within (Rodwell, Gosling) and finding unpolished gems (Mustafi, Peterlin - reaching here, Garbutt) to shape in the Everton way. Moyes is a little like Yoda - he sees and polishes potential in youth.

In a way, I kind of like that Everton is on tight strings - forces them to be resourceful and clever and it creates a great sense of team and camaraderie that the Sheik's money (looking at you Citeh) can never buy.

no transfer seems straightforward for us.....I have a gut feeling he wil be at Spurs alongside wobbly head saying it's a dream come true.

It's high time Everton decide that Naughton is not for them, chase their other targets but stay involved long enough just to force Spurs to spend more sheckels - if it does fall apart, I hope Spurs end up paying north of 8 million. Serves them right.

Its going to be a "shock" move for Naughton if he goes Spurs. After all they would've agreed a fee, bagged the player and the signiture quicker than we did.

Isn't that Kyle Walker a RB as well, don't understand why they would buy 2 up & coming right backs for 11m when they can only play one, plus they already have Hutton, Corluka etc. etc.

I have a weird theory on that one. Everton can't as yet target the big signings. So, if Everton spot a signing, my theory goes that others begin to say "If Everton want him, he must be good".

Other than that, Villa do need a right back, but spurs have messed up all theirs so he may not be 10th in line, but like Bentley, his career will come to an end.

naughton will be nuts if he goes to spurs.
there an awful team with an awful club ethic that will wreck his career before its begun.

ps ...shame on you sheffield(n)

If true, we should we make fake bids for loads of rubbish players then pull out after spurs offer more??

No source, just a faith in what we stand for as a club. If he chooses not to then he'll join the ranks of Scott Parkers that were never good enough for us anyway. We behave with integrity, if others choose not to then that's their choice.
