Would take Mina every day of the week over this bloke.
There's going to be a lot of knee jerking now, but at least it will be knee jerking to perhaps a more apt and accurate conclusion, which is that Mina is probably a far superior centre back. Thats not to say Zouma doesn't have strengths, but Mina is an absolute monster and could be akin to how a Van Dijk players with his physicality and strengths.
I saw someone the other weak say his world cup could be reduced to scoring a couple of headers. In that England Columbia game he bullied and dominated Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling. He made them look ordinary. Forget the headed goal, thats a bonus, his all-round game made them look ordinary.
The reality is, Zouma was bought last season as a filler, he was bought as an alternative to Rojo. We got quite lucky firstly because he's actually quite a good defender (better than he shows at Chelsea) but also he struck up a good partnership with Keane. They had time to play together and he didn't suffer lots of injuries acclimatising to the league as Mina did. We can only hope he's through them now, with a pre-season under his belt.
There is no reason Keane and Mina can't form a partnership. Mina is a lot quicker than people give him credit for. He looks a bit unnatural but is very effective.
As for Zouma, Chelsea will rue the day they didn't take the 30+ million that was on offer for him, as they will never get that sort of bid again.
