Any chance he can feature against wolves or is the FA looking for an excuse to screw us over

Apparently, as long as he’s registered 75 minutes before KO.

Registration - To register a player, clubs have to send the Premier League all the documents relating to the transfer, including but not limited to the player’s contract, the transfer agreement, permission to work in the UK (if required), international clearance if transferring from abroad International Transfer Certificate). For a player transferring from abroad, providing that the relevant papers have been submitted in time, ITC can be received up to 75 minutes before kick-off for a player to be eligible.

Although, unless he’s ready to train with the squad by 12pm today, I would doubt it.

I would agree with you if we weren't trying to replace 3 out of 4 at the back and possibly 3 in the midfield. It is probably going to be a bit messy at first until they get on each others wavelength. The fixture list gives us chance to pick up points while they gel, but I worry about the non-home games and especially on Saturday seeing we are going there off the back of numerous defeats.

Whilst I agree to an extent, even with last years squad I would fancy against all of the teams in those first 5 fixtures. We've had Digne and Richarlison for a little bit, so hopefully they will be able to slot in, so a team something like: Pickford; Coleman, Holgate, Keane, Digne; Gana, Morgan, Sig; Richarlison, Walcott; Tosun should be able to gel well enough together and be strong enough to beat a bunch of teams who all finished below us in the league last season with largely the same team + the anchor of Allardyce's awful tactics.

Holgate is still injured isn't he?

Holgate wont play.

If he is back from injury he has only played 45 minutes or so of pre-season hasn't he?

It'll be Jagielka and Keane.

Either way, I think that should be enough to get a really strong start to the season. In our first 10 fixtures, we play just 2 teams that finished above us last year. It's a great opportunity to have a good start and build some momentum and confidence, which is something we lacked last season, due in part to the tough run of fixtures early on.
