If we can get the new signings gelling, it's looking good indeed. Added some beef and mobility to the centre of defence, a long-needed replacement for Baines on the left, with a fit again Seamus on the right. A goalie who will be full of confidence after the WC, a bit of extra craft in midfield, and some creativity and firepower on the wings. What's perhaps as important is that we have a relatively easy run of fixtures to kick the season off, so we can hopefully get some confidence and momentum going. On paper, we should be looking to beat all of our first five opponents at least.

I would agree with you if we weren't trying to replace 3 out of 4 at the back and possibly 3 in the midfield. It is probably going to be a bit messy at first until they get on each others wavelength. The fixture list gives us chance to pick up points while they gel, but I worry about the non-home games and especially on Saturday seeing we are going there off the back of numerous defeats.
