I was annoyed at missing out on Vadis Odidja-Ofoe at the time, but it looks like we had a lucky escape then.

Zouma would be a very decent addition, and you can't go wrong on a loan deal, really.

They're season ticket holders so have had the pleasure of watching him regularly over the previous year and they were the main attributes that were highlighted.

Slightly worryingly, they didn't rate him too highly overall (average to good) but admittedly said that he improved as the year went on and their style didn't suit.

Playing in a team of turd would probably not have helped him. I'd be more interested in using his Chelsea performances as a truer Barometer of his ability... Unfortunately I've not seen much of him to judge.

This is often an issue for young defenders. I’m sure the more experience he has the more consistent he’ll be. Either way he’s still better than what we had so it’s an improvement for me.

I have family who are, for their sins, Stoke fans and they've said similar things regarding concentration: a strong, quick defender who is prone to making mistakes.

He has an ability to recover the ball from dangerous positions, however they exclaimed that often he created these own mistakes through lack of concentration.

I'll take that. Preferable to the slow, weak defenders we currently have that are prone to mistakes...

My mates a stoke fan. Said he was pretty hopeless first half of the season but towards the end of the season he was very good. Fingers crossed he carries on the latter form for us.

My same mate reckons he's easily an upgrade on Fat Ash, so he's not best pleased with how it's all panned out
